SIT AND WAIT CLINIC – HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF IT

We run a Sit and Wait Clinic each morning and afternoon from Monday to Friday, to access this clinic you will need to telephone us. It is NOT a walk in service; you will be given a specified time to come down. We hope that you are seen quickly but on very busy days you may have a wait of up to an hour. Patients who arrive after you may be seen before you, this is because we must prioritise who is seen first by the severity of their symptoms.

In order to assess your suitability for the clinic and prioritise your care the receptionists will need a brief explanation of your problem at the time of booking. The clinic is run by Doctors and Nurses. The Nurses are trained to deal with all minor illness and injury. We are unable to give you a choice of clinician for this clinic.

Your health is our priority and we would therefore expect that you will be able to attend at the time you are given. All employers and schools must allow time off for urgent Doctor’s appointments.

Ongoing or complex problems may not be suitable for this clinic. We will only be able to deal with your immediate concerns and you may be asked to return for a routine appointment.

By introducing this new system we hope that we can extend our appointment availability for all patients.
When you arrive please make sure you go to our reception desk to check in, otherwise we will not know you are here.
